You Made a Decision to Follow Jesus

If you decided to follow Jesus today — that’s amazing!

This is the most important decision you will ever make, and we’re so excited for you. Following Jesus is the beginning of a new journey with God, and we would love to help you take your next steps.

1. What Just Happened?

The Bible says:

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9

When you put your faith in Jesus, God forgives your sins and begins a new life in you.

You don’t have to be perfect. Jesus came for people who need Him — which is all of us.

2. Get Connected

Following Jesus was never meant to be done alone.

One of the most important things you can do is connect with other Christians who can encourage and support you.

If you are in the Murray Bridge area, we would love to help you connect with:

• Sunday services

• Small groups

• People who can support you in your new faith

3. Start Praying

Prayer is simply talking with God.

You can pray anytime and anywhere. You don’t need special words — just speak honestly to Him.

4. Start Reading the Bible

The Bible is how we learn about God and grow in our faith.

A great place to start is by reading one of the Gospels, such as John or Mark, which tell the story of Jesus.

One easy way to read the Bible is through the YouVersion Bible App, which is free and available on most phones.

5. Get Baptised

Baptism is an important next step for people who have decided to follow Jesus.

It is a public declaration of your faith and a symbol of your new life in Christ.

6. Helpful Resources

Understanding the Bible can take time, and that’s okay.

One resource we recommend is The Bible Project, which creates short animated videos that explain:

• Books of the Bible

• Major themes of Scripture

• The story of Jesus

• How the Bible fits together

These videos are a great way to understand the bigger picture of the Bible.
